This journey is the perfect alternative hike for those who were unable to book the Inca Trail. The adventure trail traverses a high Andean plateau, crossing one pass as high as 4,600mt/15,092ft for an up-close view of the sacred Inca peak, Salkantay (6,280mt/20,598ft). Then the trail descends into the beautiful Santa Teresa Valley with its tropical climate and vegetation. On the fourth day you will walk to Machu Picchu village to spend the night in a cozy hostel. On the last day you will visit Machu Picchu the “Lost City of the Incas". See the intricate stonework of these enigmatic ruins which is one of the finest examples of Inca masonry.
Pick up in the morning from your hotel and drive from Cusco to Mollepata (3,000mt/9,843ft) and continue to Challacancha a place with magnificent scenery of valleys, and mountains. From here, we start our hike upwards until reaching Soraypampa (3,800m/12,464ft), continuing to our camp Salcantaypampa (4,100mt/13,451ft) that is located at the foot of the Tucarhuay mountain.

In the morning we will walk the most difficult part of the trek, the highest point, to the Salkantay Pass (4,600mt/15,092ft). Then we start our descent observing the change of the constant ecological scenery. Finally, we arrive at our next camp at Collpapampa(3,200mt /10,496ft).

After breakfast we will walk down through a colorful forest seeing bright vegetation. We will also meet with some ancestral families during the trek, en route to La Playa (2,100mt/ 6,890ft), to have lunch. Thereafter, we will take transport to Santa Teresa where we can enjoy a dip at the hot springs.

This morning we will take transport to the Hydroelectric Station (1,950mt/6,398ft). From here we will walk to Machu Picchu village (2,050mt /6,726ft) along the Urubamba River enjoying the beautiful vegetation. You will have the opportunity to observe the north side of Machu Picchu. Arriving in the afternoon and check in to your hostel.

Pick up in the early morning to take the bus up to the magical Sanctuary. Enjoy a professional guided walking tour of the grand Machu Picchu (2,400mt/7,874ft). Visit the extraordinary Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Three Windows features huge trapezoidal windows and much more. Then return by bus to Machu Picchu village for lunch (on your own) before boarding the train to Poroy. You will be met at the train station by our staff and private transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
Optional: (extra cost) Head over to the entrance of Huayna Picchu to climb a narrow path until reaching the top for splendid vistas of Machu Picchu and the valley below.
