    Day 1: Cusco-Andahuaylilla-Raqchi-Pucara-Puno

    After, an early breakfast transfer from your Cusco hotel to the bus station to begin our trip to Puno. We’ll travel along the Vilcanota River Valley. Along this route we will visit Andahuaylillas with its colonial chapel. Then continue to Raqchi for a visit of the famous Wirachocha Temple.  Afterwards, continue to La Raya (4,321mt/14,172ft) for a short visit catching stunning vistas of the Cordillera Vilcanota. Later we will visit the Pucara museum before continuing our drive to Puno. Reception in Puno and transfer to your hotel.

    Day 2: Puno-Uros-Taquile

    Early transfer to the docks to catch the local ferry for your journey to Uros, the floating islands, made from piles of totora reeds. From here we continue on to Taquile Island, one of the communities still living under the old Andean laws. We’ll admire their beautiful knitting techniques - finest of the region - and learn of their traditional Quechua customs. In the afternoon, return to Puno and transfer to your hotel.

    Day 3: Puno-Lima or Arequipa

    The morning is free for shopping before an afternoon bus ride towards the Juliaca Airport. Along the way, we’ll visit the mysterious Sillustani burial towers, which are an enigmatic grouping of round mausoleums, or chullpas, overlooking Lake Umayo. They probably date back from the Tiahuanacu period, although the style bears some resemblance to Inca stonework. Arrive to the airport for your flight to Lima or Arequipa.

    After breakfast we will pick you up from your hotel to board the boat to start our 2 hour ride on the smooth waters of Lake Titicaca to the island of Uros. Enjoy a visit of Uros where the inhabitants have built and continue to build their islands from the totora reeds unique to the area. After our visit we will continue our journey to the island of Amantani that is inhabited by 3,000 Quechua speaking people whom continue with their ancient traditions. Here we will explore the Inca and Tiahuanco Archeological ruins and take in the lovely scenery. Thereafter we will have lunch before meeting your host family for the night.

    Homestay

    Day 3: Amantani -Taquile – Puno

    This morning we will have breakfast with our host family before our departure to the island of Taquille. This is a pleasant peaceful island with about 2,200 inhabitants known as Taquileños that are southern Quechua speakers. The Taquileños are known for their hand-woven textiles and clothing considered among the highest quality handicrafts in Peru. Enjoy a scenic trek of the island and eat a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. After a glorious time return to Puno around 5pm. Transport to your hotel.

    Itinerary by boat:
    We will pick you up early in the morning from your hotel and transfer you to the pier to board the motorboat that will take us to the island of Uros. Visit two islands in 1 hour before continuing our journey to the Peninsula of Capachica, the community of Llachon. In Llachon we will appreciate the typical dress of the villagers. Before lunch we will walk for about 40 minutes to 1 hour until we reach a typical restaurant to have our delicious meal. After a fabulous meal we will board our motorboat for our return to Puno (approx. 2.5 hours by boat) then transfer to your hotel. 

    Meal: L Itinerary by bus:
    We will pick you up early in the morning from your hotel to board our bus to the Peninsula of Capachica, community of Llachon (1.5 hours by bus). In Llachon we will appreciate the typical dress of the villagers. Before lunch we will walk for about 30 minutes until we reach a family’s house and then continue our stroll to a typical restaurant for a delicious lunch. After lunch we will board the motorboat for our visit to the floating island of Uros (40 minute ride). Later we return to Llachon to board our bus for our return to Puno (approx. 1.5 hour bus ride) then transfer to your hotel.
