This is a brilliant 2 days tour visiting the extraordinary islands of Uros, Amantani and Taquille in Lake Titicaca.  Admire the cultures of the Uros People in their man made Islands, spend a night with the Amantani People and enjoy the weaving techniques of the Taquile People.  Appreciate firsthand culture exchange with your host family in Amantani.  Enjoy a memorable night with them participating in their traditional lifestyle, by sharing their cultural foods, dancing with the locals and listening to the Andean music.

    Program begins in Puno

    Day 1: Puno- Uros- Amantani

    After breakfast we will pick you up from your hotel to board our motorboat to start our 2 hours ride on the smooth waters of Lake Titicaca to the island of Uros. We will enjoy a visit of Uros where the inhabitants have built and continue to build their islands from the totora reeds unique to the area.  After our visit we will continue our journey to the island of Amantani that is inhabited by 3,000 Quechua speaking people whom continue with their ancient traditions. Their main economical resources are the production of ceramics and textiles. Here we will explore the Inca and Tiahuanco Archeological ruins while enjoying the lovely scenery. We will prepare lunch before meeting our host family for the night.  In the evening we will eat a delicious dinner prepared by our host family and share their cultural lifestyle.

    Day 2: Amantani -Taquile – Puno

    This morning we will have breakfast with our host family before our departure to the island of Taquille. Taquile is a pleasant, peaceful island with about 2,200 inhabitants known as Taquileños and are southern Quechua speakers. The island is hilly and tranquil with its surrounding pristine waters. The Taquileños are known for their hand-woven textiles and clothing considered among the highest quality handicrafts in Peru. They are very traditional in their Andean ways. Enjoy a scenic trek of the island and eat a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. After a glorious time return to Puno around 5pm. Transport to your hotel.
