The Moonstone Trail is rarely visited and you will not encounter tourists in the Temple. Hike through the eastern part of the Inca Trail and revel in nature visiting the quarry site of Cachiqata. This is a fascinating place where the Incas used to gather and carve the rocks to build the different constructions like the spectacular fortress of Ollantaytambo. Later see the ruins from town and walk around the quaint village. In the evening we will take the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes to spend the night. Early in the morning we take the bus up to the “Lost city of the Incas”, Machupicchu” to take pleasure in a professional guided walking tour of “One of the new seven wonders of the world”.

Morning pick up from your hotel Cusco and drive North East to Quillarumiyoc (3650m/11972ft) an important archaeological site. We'll tour the site before continuing our drive to the trailhead at Parupishu (3317m/10879ft) located in the Pomatales Canyon. We'll begin our trek ascending towards Wata (3843m/12605ft) and visit the ruins. After lunch, we descend to our campsite at Chillipahua (3752m/12306ft).

Today, ascending up the left side of the gorge of Antapahua we'll appreciate vistas of the surrounding mountains of Cusco (Pachatusan and Senca), the Chinchero Plateau and others. After lunch, we'll cross the Accoccasa Pass (4622m/15160ft) viewing the snow-covered peaks of Veronica, Halacoma and Chicon. Then descend through the gorge to Callanka (4181m/13713ft) our campsite located in the lower part of Chancachuco.

After breakfast, we continue through a small canyon leading to the Calicanto Valley where we'll hike around the Cachiccata Hill following the route of the Inca Aqueduct. Then continue down to the archaeological site of Chimpachacra viewing the Pacariqtampu Pyramid. Continuing to Cachiccata (3520m/11217ft) for a visit and then descend to the Cachiccata Village (3065m/10053ft) where our transport will take us to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Machu Picchu town and spend the night in a hostel.

Early in the morning we'll take the bus from the village to Machu Picchu "The Lost City of the Incas" and enjoy a professional guided walking tour. Visit the extraordinary Temple of the Sun with, Temple of the Three Windows and much more. Have some free time to further explore the Sacred Sanctuary before taking the bus down to Machu Picchu village to have lunch (on your own). Thereafter, board the expedition train to Poroy where private transport will be waiting to take you to your Cusco hotel.
